Manuscript screening: No
Kind of contract: Unknown
2+2=5 Their contract is rather ambiguous on a number of issues, including whether or not it is exclusive.

The fact that their contract includes a clause stating that in the event of a dispute you are not allowed to make negative comments in a public forum does not bode well.

Pros*: *Good royalties.
*Good discount.
*Setup fee includes copyediting.
Cons*: *Ridiculously expensive setup fee.
*Limited distribution.
*There are some pretty serious unanswered questions concerning both their contract and their services.
Comments*: Okay so you pay them £3,750.00, they provide you with a layout, a cover and they set up an account for you with the printer. It is true that they supply you with a batch of ten ISBNs but it seems to me that once your book is in the system you are pretty much on your own.
The Bottom Line*:

The most expensive set-up fee of the whole comparison, a rather amateurish website that is all but impossible to navigate and a contract featuring a clause aimed at preventing disgruntled authors from voicing their grievances while leaving other critical aspects up in the air (to say nothing of the fact that once your book is published you are apparently on your own), all combine to make this one a publisher to avoid. On a positive note, their discount and royalties are great.
