Painful Consequences
Willow reread the letter yet again. It was the third such letter she had received since performing the spell that had activated all potential slayers around the world and she suspected those letters represented just the tip of the iceberg. She realized that most of the women who found themselves in such "uncomfortable circumstances" probably had no idea of what was going on. She was going over that spell in her head, trying to see if she could have cast it in a different way, changed something to activate only some of the potential slayers thus preventing such painful consequences but the fact was that it wouldn't have been possible even if she had thought about it (which she hadn't). It was now apparent that not all potential slayers had been ready to become slayers.
As she cast the spell Willow had never even considered what it would mean to the mothers of the youngest potentials... the ones that were still breast feeding.
Author's Note: I was talking to a friend who just had a baby, then I watched "Chosen" (again)... then things got weird. I just couldn't help myself.
